This Year Has Brought Many Tests!

Hi Friends! Each week, I send a newsletter to my mailing list that includes a special message from me. It's my way of continuing to share what I've received from Spirit, and hopefully add a little bit more light, guidance, or comfort to your day or week. This was the message that I shared last week, and that I felt guided to extend to all of you as well as we approach the end of the year.

As we enter into the last month of the year, many of us have started reflecting on 2020 - what has gone according to our plan and what has not. For many of us, much of the year has strayed off the path we laid out for ourselves. We've had to make adjustments and shift our own response to a lot of different circumstances in order to stay aligned with our higher selves. So many of you have done a remarkable job of doing this, and continuing to show up and shine your light. But even in acknowledging those changes, it can be hard not to get discouraged, angry, or sad when thinking about what didn't work out, what sacrifices we've had to make, or the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Even when we do everything "right," according to the perfect map we've drawn for ourselves, things - sometimes many things - do not go the way we want them to. But it's important to remember that this perspective is coming from our ego, and not from our higher selves. While these feelings are understandable, when we really sit with them, our higher selves recognize that there is a divine plan and that everything that we experience brings a lesson or a blessing.

This year has brought many tests and shown us the lessons that we still need to learn. We've personally and collectively experienced growth as a result. While these lessons almost always involve hardship of some sort, they also bring the gift of knowing and doing better in the future. We are here, a soul in a body, to learn these necessary lessons and to continue our soul's growth. It's important to remember to see these shifts and detours through the spiritual lens, the lens of love. Years like this, that bring with them tragedy, heartbreak, loneliness, and so much more, have the tendency to draw us closer to faith or pull us further from it. Although we may not be able to see the big picture now, let this year be a reminder to stay in trust and stay in faith. Just because things haven't gone "according to plan" doesn't mean that they are not falling into place in the right and perfect way. Remember, sometimes things have to fall apart in order for better things to fall together. And, remember that not everything is in your control. Set the intention to do your part and then let the rest of the details go. Life will always bring change, but when we recognize that we signed up for this human experience and that things will always shift for and by us, we take our power back. We remember the bigger, divine plan at play and we are more easily able to surrender our expectations. Continue to show up and shine your light as we complete this year, remembering that just by doing so, you have done enough. When we do our part to show up and fulfill our divine purpose, we can rest assured that we are continuing to co-create a future that is for our highest and best good.
