Children Are Angelic Messengers
While children bring along with them many gifts, one of the greatest gifts they offer us is their ability to be our little messengers and teachers. I can’t tell you how often I hear the same message from the other side, that our children are often the older souls in our spiritual relationships, and that they come in to teach us more about who we are and the karmic lessons we are here to work out. It’s usually unbeknownst to them, however. If they were like me as a kid, I recall just “knowing” things. I “knew” the truth, without consciously being able to explain why or how. This psychic superpower is known as claircognizance, or clear knowing, where out of the blue blocks of divine thought are plopped into our conscious minds.
“Be Here With Me Now”
The greatest gift we can give children in return is the acknowledgment of their innate wisdom, and a nurturing of their intuitive abilities. For example, the other day I was spending time with my younger son, Sam, at the park. While I generally make a point to put all my electronic gadgets away when I’m with my kids so as to be present to them, I happened to be distracted on my phone, lost in thought as I replied to an email, anything but present to him. He looked at me and said, “Mommy, I’m right here. Look at me. Be here now with me.” Wow. These wise and very true words coming from the mouth of a 7-year-old! I got the chills when he said it, which is a sign I often get when my spirit guides are standing near and letting me know they’re behind the message before me.
If there’s one thing I’m aware of needing to work on in this lifetime it’s being totally present and in the moment, not lost in thoughts about the past or worrying about the future. This is something my guides have mentioned in psychic readings I’ve had, along with my own meditations. I’m learning, wherever I am, to be totally and completely there. Period. It sounds easy, but stop and notice how often our minds get in the way and take us out of the present moment. Anyways, Sam called me out on a very simple yet profound reminder to put down my phone and be present to him, and to the moment. And I acknowledged him for being not only right, but very wise, and thanked him for being my little messenger.
Keep An Ear Out
So the next time something wise and beyond his or her years comes flying out of your kid’s mouth, pay attention and take it seriously. See it as a potential message from the other side. If you get the chills, or are taken aback by the profundity of their words, then consider it being divinely guided and impressed upon them. And be sure to thank them for serving as your angelic messenger!
