The power of positive thinking is not a new concept. Neither is the scientific research that tells us the benefits of having a growth mindset (check out Carol Dweck’s research). Both are getting a lot of press these days.  Whether based on scientific research or personal experience, what we think matters. And we have the power to change what we think if we pay attention.

Once we start paying attention, we can make small changes in our thinking that make a big difference. What that looks for each one of us can vary depending on the person. If you have been following me for awhile, you know that I start each day by getting “spiritually dressed”. And this begins with making sure I am in my right mind by setting my intention for my day. Not only do I use my favorite mantras in my meditations, I make sure I have constant reminders around me in various forms. I use my mala beads to remind me that I am Connected and Protected all day, even when it may not feel like it. On my bed, I keep a pillow to remind me to Show Up & Shine for my family and for my clients. When I get to work, I grab a cup of coffee in my favorite mug. And if I am spending the day writing my blog or content for Inner Circle, I wear my Brightest Blessings and All Love sweatshirt to send out that energy in my communication.

I encourage you to think about how you can create your own reminders throughout your day. Put a sticky on the mirror for when you wake up, get a card deck with your favorite quotes and draw one daily, or put on a mala to remind you all day long.
